Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: Fly direct with British Airways to San Jose, an ideal base from which to start your Costa Rica adventure.

Day 2: A visit to the Poas Volcano with its huge crater. On the way a breakfast and coffee stop at Doka coffee plantation . Later enjoy the stunning La Paz Waterfall Gardens to experience rainforest wildlife and vegetation.

Day 3: The Arenal Volcano and National Park, ideal for adventurous families to enjoy zip-lining, mountain biking, hiking and wildlife spotting.

Day 4: A boat trip down the Peñas Blancas River for family viewing of colourful birds, monkeys, sloths and butterflies.

Day 5: Another boat trip this time across the Arenal Lake and onward to Monteverde Cloud Forest for twilight and evening wildlife hunting.

Day 6: A day with spectacular views from the air on zip lines and high suspension bridges across the forest canopy observing howler monkeys and colourful birds in their habitat.

Days 7-9: Spend the next 3 nights at Manuel Antonio National Park where the stunning jungle and rainforest meets the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Excursions can be booked from here for white water rafting, boat trips, kayaking and horseriding.
